Dataverse 4.13

The 4.13 release of Dataverse is now available!

This release introduces a tree view for files in a dataset and adds a new file metadata editing API. Some more on these two changes: 

  • Viewing File Hierarchy: Following on the ability to add and edit file hierarchy in previous releases, users can now toggle the list of files to a tree view.  This provides a new way to navigate the files within a dataset.

How Europe’s top agricultural research institute, INRA, uses Dataverse to improve data sharing

L'Institut national de la recherche agronomique (INRA), or the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, updated their Dataverse-based repository in late January 2019. With the update, the repository, called Portail Data Inra, is able to ingest more types of tabular files, better preserving and presenting tabular data. And the repository sends more metadata to DataCite in order to improve data discovery.

Dataverse 4.12 introduces new APIs and additional File Hierarchy support

This release introduces User Management APIs, the ability to edit the hierarchy of files in a dataset, backend support for Make Data Count, and guidance on best practices for making datasets appear in search engines. Some more on each of these changes: 

  • User Management APIs: Administrators can now merge and rename Dataverse accounts. Merging is especially helpful for managing cases where users change from one institution to another.
