The Dataverse Project Team has just returned from the 9th annual Dataverse Community Meeting that took place at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, from June 5th to 7th, 2023. This regional community meeting marked a significant milestone as it paved the way for the participation of the 100 Dataverse installations worldwide in hosting future meetings. Last week, more than 200 participants from around the world gathered to learn about, discuss, and improve Harvard’s own open-source research data repository software, Dataverse. Dataverse is developed at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) and used by researchers and journals at Harvard University and beyond to archive, share and receive credit for data. At the 2017 Dataverse Community Meeting, attendees and speakers from over 60 universities and other research organizations convened to discuss and address subjects such as data sharing, reproducibility of research, the data lifecycle, and integrating Dataverse with visualization tools, computational resources, and expanded data storage options.
Thank you to the Dataverse Community for another successful Community Meeting July 11-13th. It was an exciting few days of learning about Dataverses around the world and connecting as a community. All presentation slides have been posted on the Community Meeting website in the Agenda section. Additionally, the keynote and Updates on Dataverse talks were recorded and available on the website in the Agenda section as, “Keynote and Update on Dataverse”.
The Dataverse Team at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science is excited to announce the second annual 2016 Dataverse Community Meeting, taking place July 11-12th at Harvard Medical School’s Armenise Amphitheater.
