#  Dataverse Software 6.5 Release

##  Release Overview

 Dataverse 6.5 is now available with several important bug fixes and new features.

 **Bug fixes**. Dataverse 6.5 fixes the following important bugs, including:

- We fixed a problem with Dataverse 6.4's subfield "Relation Type" (Related Publication) (see [\#10632](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10632))
- We fixed a dataset landing page problem where "Newest" and "Oldest" were reversed when sorting files. See [\#10742](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/10742) and [\#11000](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/11000)
- The Guestbook UI form now checks the email address for validity. See [\#10661](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/10661) and [\#11022](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/11022)
- We also fixed a problem involving deaccessioned datasets with a single previous version. See [\#9351](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/9351) and [\#10901](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10901).

 **New features**. New release 6.5 features include:

- New API endpoints, including editing of collections, Search API file counts, listing of exporters, comparing dataset versions, and auditing data files
- UX improvements, especially Preview URLs
- Increased harvesting flexibility
- Performance gains
- And a [security vulnerability](https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-security/issues/98) was addressed
